I got a call from my English Aunty Fiona one night saying that her brother Grant was in town, visiting from Norwich, and that he was a great guitar player. She suggested that we connect and play a bit of music.

I remember walking through her door with my cousin Reed, and seeing this tall lanky guy, with long hair, and a beautiful Lowden guitar. I'd never seen a Lowden before, and was convinced, on the spot, that it was one of the most beautiful guitars I'd ever seen.

We sat down in the front room to proceeded to tune up. Grant asked for a song. I don't have a clue as to what I played, but I do remember hearing him play. Grant played some of the most amazing guitar I've heard to this day. It was amazing. I knew that we had to get into the studio and do SOMETHING together.

I booked the studio for the night before Grant was to leave back to England, and had one of the funnest studio sessions ever. Grant was incredible. He played take, after take, after flawless take.

To this day, I count it as one of the choicest musical experiences I've ever had, and am so glad that we were able to get in and get it down. I'm not a big fan of my vocals on the track. This was early on, and I was still figuring things out, but I could . . . and have listened to Grant's guitar for DAYS!
